It wasn't until his thirties that Ed started contemplating a full-time career as an artist. Despite the late start, his dedication and passion for sculpting propelled him forward on his artistic path.

Architectural Marvel: A Breakthrough Moment

In 1999, Ed experienced a game-changing moment when a wealthy importer recognized his exceptional vision and skills. This led to a monumental project where Ed transformed a home in Dover Heights into a masterpiece of organic design.

Picture this: towering 4-meter high front doors adorned with solid red cedar trunks, seamlessly blending nature with architecture. Ed's attention to detail and creativity shone through in every aspect of the project.

Continued Success: The Journey Continues

Following the success of the Dover Heights project, Ed and his partner Barb (also an artist) embarked on new artistic endeavors, pushing the boundaries of sculptural design and innovation. Tables ,Dining settings, beds ,coffee tables and wine stands flowed forth.

Ed and Barb are now fulltime artists creating and producing for many outlets around the state of Tasmania and their Huon pine mini wombat is a growing global ambassador for Tasmania.

From humble beginnings on a bulldozer to crafting awe-inspiring sculptures, Ed Ramsay's journey is a testament to the power of creativity and perseverance. Who knew that a childhood love for woodworking would pave the way for such remarkable artistic achievements? 

Now Ed and Barbs sculptures are scattered worldwide, providing joy on every continent.
